All in all, it still would be a more pleasant ending (particularly for Harry) if he were not a Horcrux. Unfortunately for him, the balance of evidence says he is.

# Before Book 7 was released, lots of people were predicting that Harry was a horcrux. I was always really reluctant to believe it, because I didn’t want Harry to die, though I did find it a fascinating theory.
# Looking back on it, Harry’s sacrifice did have great meaning and symbolism in the story, and even if he’d stayed dead, it would have still have been a very important message about the importance of doing the right thing, despite danger.
# After reading Book 7, I started imagining different endings for his sacrifice (e.g. even more people coming to him from the afterlife, Ron and Hermione going with him)
The one thing that virtually every Harry Potter fan agrees on is that Lord Voldemort will die. Maybe Harry will die, too. Maybe Snape will sacrifice himself. Maybe Draco will run away and be tracked down and murdered. There’s a lot of maybes, but only one definite. The Harry Potter series is the tale of a fight between good and evil, and evil will not be allowed to win. Voldemort will die, period.

# This makes me emotional.
Dobby is cute (after a fashion), lovable, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the war against Voldemort. He’s practically guaranteed to make it through.

We don’t want to see Remus die, but we can’t deny that out of the major characters, he is one of the most expendable. We know some people are going to be killed, and unfortunately Remus is near the front of the line. It’s far from a certainty, but it’s a distinct possibility.
